Last Post!
Overall I think this assignment was really good. It was nice to not be forced to read books we don't want to read. I read Maine Squeeze, Dreamland, and The Truth About Forever. These books are all by Sarah Dessen. I read 20.5 hours!

Mr. Strusz! We talked during class and you told me it was okay for me to blog tonight because I had no time Sunday due to the play! You also told me to type this in bold so you would remember so that's what I did!
Anyways I started a new book this week! It's called The Truth About Forever. This book is also by Sarah Dessen. Unfortunately, I was busy with the play all this week so I only got to read for about a half hour. So now I'm just going to tell you about what I've read to far!
So Macy's boyfriend, Jason, who she has been dating for awhile just left for 8 weeks to some kind of nerd camp. Jason wasn't the kind of guy she usual liked but he had come into her life at a time when she really needed someone. Her father had just died of a heart attack right in front of Macy before she met Jason. Macy and her mother are just in the process of getting rid of some of her fathers things.
That is pretty much as far as I've read! So I'll post something later this week once I get to read more! Have a good week everyone!
Only 4 more days till we're off for spring break! (:
Total time read: 15 hours!

So last week Saturday I started Dreamland by Sarah Dessen and I actually finished it yeterday. I read every single night..it was crazy! I got really into this book and just couldn't put it down! I'll explain what this book is all about...
The book starts off with this girl named Caitlin. She wakes up on her birthday to find out her older sister, Cass, had runaway with her boyfriend to New York. Cass was the typical older sister who was perfect at everything. Caitlin had always lived in her sisters shadow. Well anyways, Caitlin decides to join the cheerleading squad with her best friend Rina. After one of the football games Caitlin and Rina were at the gas station before going to a party and Caitlin runs into this guy named Rogerson. He ended up going to the same party as Caitlin and a few days after that they went out on their first date. After that they were inseperable. Although Rogerson used and sold drugs Caitlin quickly fell in love with him. At first things were great between them, but things quickly went downhill. One night Caitlin went to Rogersons house for a party his parents were having. They got there an hour late and Rogersons dad took him into another and hit him right in front of Caitlin. From then on Rogerson began to show his true colors. Rogerson began to hit Caitlin whenever she was late for something or just got on his nerves. At first he had just slapped her but as time went on the hitting got harder and the bruises got bigger. Caitlin loved Rogerson despite this and hid everything from her paretns. She withdrew from all her family and friends and spent all her time with Rogerson. So one afternoon Caitlin went with Rina somewhere and when she arrived home later that night she found Rogerson waiting for her in the driveway. This was also the night of her parents annual April Fool's Day party. Caitlin got into Rogersons car and before she could shut the door he hit her in the face and she fell out of the car onto the ground. Rogerson got out of his car and started yelling at Caitlin and kicking her. Someone from the party saw this and called the cops. Everyone ran out to the driveway to help Caitlin. The cops got to her house and arrested Rogerson. Caitlins parents put her into a rehab facility to get help recovering from everthing she had experienced.
And that is what my book was about...

Guess what?!?!
I AM FINALLY DONE WITH THIS BOOK! I finished it yesterday! I didn't really explain too well about what this book is all about, but i didn't think you would care too much since it's all about teen romance and you don't seem like the kind of person who would be into those kinda of books. Like I said in a previous post the next book I'm gonna read is Dreamland. I;m gonna start it over the weekend so I'll most likely make another post Sunday night! WOOT! Hope everyone has a great weekend (:

WLA Cheer and Stunt Team Take First at State!
Saturday, February, 14th was an awesome day to be a part of the Winnebago Lutheran Academy Cheer and Stunt Team. The girls’ took home a first place win at the State cheerleading competition held at the Brown County Arena in Green Bay, WI. The only competition they had was Crivitz High School who had an awesome routine as well. The competition was tough but the Vikings ended the day with a first place trophy.
This isn’t the first time the WLA Cheer and Stunt Team have done well at the State competition. They also took first place back in 2007. Not only did they take first place that year, but their coach, Darcy Rahjes, received the “Coach of the Year” award. Darcy has been the cheer coach at WLA for the past twelve years. “She is an awesome coach and an awesome role model for me and the rest of the cheerleaders,” said WLA cheerleader Kaitlyn Loest.
The girls were coming off a first place finish at the Regional competition help on January 31st at Oshkosh North High School. They were up against Crivitz at this competition as well. They beat them by a landslide. The girls knew that Crivitz would be out to get them for the first place title at State.
Although the Crivitz cheerleaders gave an awesome performance at State, they dropped two of their stunts which gave them a four point deduction. The WLA cheerleaders dropped zero stunts and everything in their routine looked flawless. “It was the best I had ever seen them perform this routine,” WLA assistant coach Vikki Paul said.
“This means so much to our team. We have worked so hard to be here and we are extremely happy with this first place win,” said WLA Cheer and Stunt team member Kayla Weichman.
